Hello! Welcome to Simply Southern Rattery! We are located out yonder in hot and sunny Georgia. We are about 30 min from Augusta Ga, 40 min from Aiken Sc, 1.5 hours from Columbia Sc, 2 hours from Atlanta Ga, 2.5 hours from Savannah Ga, 2.5 hours from Charlotte Nc, and 3 hours from Charleston Sc. Those are where a lot of our adopters are from so I just went ahead and listed them all.

We do work with transporters and we also ship Delta so not being near us is not an issue! Transport is $45 or $60 per bin depending on how many you get. You meet the transporter at pick up points usually at a gas station or a fast food parking lot. Depending on where you are, transport takes a few days. Delta is around $200 with a crate included and usually takes a few hours and you pick up at the airport cargo area or the ticket counter depending on the airport.

About Us
Simply Southern Rattery came to be in 2024 but we definitely aren't new to the rat game. I started Legends of Rock Rattery 15 years ago but stopped breeding due to work and life being lifey. I missed how much I enjoyed rat genetics and how working on it all was therapeutic for me. So now that I have the time and space I started a new rattery with a new name and got to work learning about all of the new mutations (which is nuts compared to 15 years ago!) and got to planning. We are still a relatively small scale breeder with 2-3 litters every few months. We breed for our own goals, not for quantity and cash so just keep checking back if you don't see anyone available. As always we strive for good health, friendly temperaments, and last but not least, good looks!

Colors
This go around we are working with several flavors of Mink, Pearl, Black, Russian Blue, American Blue, Russian and Australian Cinnamon, Tonkinese, Burmese, Black Eyed Siamese, Golden Siamese, Chocolate (actual chocolate), Marble, and combinations of those listed above. Occasionally we do have martens and other agouti things as well.

Coats
Coat wise we have standard, rex, velveteen, and harley and although they are not our main focus we occasionally get satin, lux, silvermane and werewolf.

Markings
Markings wise we really try to stick to self (solid), but we do also get berkshire, Irish, English Irish, blazed, and variegated occasionally.

We are a CLOSED rattery. That means you cannot come over to touch rats or pick and choose babies with your hands. It is a biosecurity issue (The possible spread of sickness and disease) and also a security/privacy issue as I am not a pet store. I run my rattery out of a swanky building on my property and random strangers coming over all of the time is weird.
